Rands In Repose: I Don’t Multitask

Lastly, I need mental background noise to tap into when I’m not focusing on whatever task it is I’m working on. Back at home, my favorite source of white noise is the coffee shop. It’s chock full of people, stories, and familiar, random sounds that fuel my creative forward momentum.

Mine is the library – the perfect blend of low level auditory white noise to enable me to concentrate. Gives the left brain something to track while the right brain gets on with doing something creative. The two big drawbacks with my local library are no coffee and no toilet. They are missing an opportunity to compete with Costa and Starbucks here.
